COUNTDOWN TO D-DAY 80 HAS BEGUN!

Join us on Thursday 6th June from 8:45pm at the War Memorial Gardens

Carnforth Town Council will be hosting a short reflective event to remember those who gave their lives and took part in the D-day landings.

Their will be nostagic wartime songs from our popular friends from C & C Entertainments and their ‘Bobby Pin-ups’; a D-day Proclamation from our Town Crier; hoisting of the D-Day Flag of Peace and an ‘International Tribute’ given by the Town Mayor, Councillor Elizabeth Jones.

Then at 9:15 we will join hundreds of cities, towns and villages across the country in lighting our Beacon as a symbolic celebration of the light of peace that emerged from the darkness of war.

WE NEED YOU!

To join us to be a part of this special event and, if you can, by bringing a jam jar with you!

Why? So that a tealight can be lit, placed in the jar and positioned in front of the War Memorial.

We need enough jam jars to spell out D-DAY 80 as a lit tribute from the residents of Carnforth for peace and to remember those whose sacrifice enables us all to enjoy the peace and freedom we have today.

Will you be there? Please share with your friends and family!
