Carnforth Town Council ‘s first Pumpkin decorating competition caught the attention of some residents this Halloween amd many more must have enjoyed seeing them lighting up the town over the Halloween period!
Led by Councillor Steve Richmond, the competion has been a delightful way to showcase creativity, artistic skills, and a love for the Halloween season.
Cllr Richmond said that he was astonished by the outstanding pumpkin decorating with contestants of all ages, including 5 year old William Hodkinson highlighting their innovative designs and carving techniques.
He had a difficult task deciding on a winner from all the wonderfully carved creations but eventually decided to award First prize to Patrick and John Fairley. He was particular impressed by the level of detail and the imaginative concept that transformed a simple pumpkin into a stunning fire-breathing Dragon!
The runner-up prize went to Hannah Louise Dawson whose clever creations showed great originality and incorporated several whimsical features!
Both received cash prizes and a pumpkin winners rosette!
As we congratulate everyone who took part, we should recognize that this event was more than a competition, it was a celebration of community spirit, creativity, and the joy of the season.
Participants must have spent hours perfecting their designs and then carving their pumpkin creations!
Everyone who took part will receive a certificate of commendation, and we hope that their efforts will inspire others to let their imagination run wild and unleash their own creative potential.
