I have lived in Carnforth with my family for over 25 years and joined the Town Council following my retirement from the Environment Agency. My formal education is in environmental protection, having worked for nearly 40 years regulating major polluting industries.
I currently lead on Emergency Planning – ensuring we can provide support to our community in the event of an emergency – and on air quality management in our town.
As well as supporting on day-to-day issues I am passionate about making Carnforth a great place to live and visit and, for the second year, I will organise and promote the Carnforth Fringe. The Carnforth Fringe is part of a growing ‘Bay Fringe’ initiative and is an arts festival involving Edinburgh Fringe players and local artists alike. My aspiration is to make this an annual event which will provide entertainment for residents and attract visitors to our town.
