As part of our War Memorial Centenary celebrations recently we were delighted to welcome Geoff Senior from the North West Film Archive in Manchester who showed a series of short silent films from the early 20th century showing life locally before, during and after World War One. Included was a film of the unveiling of Carnforth War Memorial in 1924.
We have managed to obtain a limited number of dvds of these films entitled The First World War : Life on the Home Front in North West England produced by the North West Film Archive and with a commentary by well known Bolton actress, Maxine Peake. The dvd is now available price £5 (post & packing extra).
