D-DAY 80 – CARNFORTH PAYS TRIBUTE

On 6th June 1944, hundreds of thousands of brave servicemen landed on the shores of Normandy, France.

Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno, and Sword – the five landing beaches where history was made by the sacrifice of young men who left behind their families and homes to fight for a cause greater than themselves.

On 6th June 2024 – 80 years on – Carnforth will pay tribute to those who fought for the freedoms we enjoy today.

In the morning, at 10am, there will be a Proclamation by the Town Crier.

Then from 8:45pm join us for the National D-Day 80 anniversary event.

Bring your own jam jar and light a ‘candle of peace’ (candle provided by Carnforth Town Council)

There will be a Proclamation by the Town Crier, an International Tribute, Beacon lighting and entertainment from the fabulous C & C Entertainments and their ‘Bobby Pin-ups’.

This is a FREE event.
