I have been a resident of Carnforth for 43yrs. I am a Christian and involved in Carnforth Free Methodist Church and play an active part in some of the groups the church runs. Along with a friend, we lead an art group for the u3a in the church’s new community centre on Kellet Road. I enjoy singing and am active member of Carnforth community choir and Humholler’n’Sing community choir in Lancaster and on the committee of both. As well as enjoying art and singing, I like gardening and I’ve helped set up a ‘friends of group’ for Mawsons Garden Silverdale for which I’m treasurer as well as a committee member. I’m also a volunteer listener with the Samaritans and have been there for 17years. My motivation for joining the council is to see community groups encouraged and developed here in Carnforth.
